NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. --- UCI men's tennis concluded its regular season Saturday evening with a 5-2 loss to San Diego State at Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach.

The Aztecs (11-11) scored the doubles point in a sweep. Caryl Hernandez and Shuhei Shibahara led 6-5 in No. 3 doubles before their match was cut short.

San Diego State clinched the match early with three straight-set singles wins. Rafael Davidian won in straight sets to deny the sweep. Tyler Pham ended the match with a come-from-behind three-set victory at No. 2 singles for the second point for the Anteaters (11-17, 1-4).

UCI claims the No. 5 seed in the Big West Tournament that begins Fri. Apr. 25 at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The 'Eaters draw UC Davis in the first round match at 9:00 a.m.
