Camille Buckley Visits China For Basketball Tour

Irvine, Calif. – UC Irvine senior forward Camille Buckley is a member of the USA Women's All-Star Basketball team that will participate in two international basketball tournaments in China beginning on April 20.

The team, which is organized by NetScouts Basketball, will play a round-robin format in three cities for a total of nine games. The team will first play three games in Shenzhen, Guangdong against the national teams of New Zealand, Denmark and China. They will then head to Nan'an, Fujian Province and then to Jiangxi Province to play a total of six games against national teams of Australia, Slovenia and China.

The team will be coached by NetScouts Basketball's Chris Denker with Northern Colorado's Ryan Johnson serving as the assistant coach.

The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars roster is comprised of 10 players from nine different universities, including fellow Big West player Molly Schlemer from Cal Poly.

Buckley earned first-team All-Big West honorees and ended the year ranked 10th nationally in rebound average with 12.0 boards per game. She pulled down 26 rebounds against Cal Poly on Feb. 1 which was a school record as well as the most rebounds in a men's or women's basketball game this season.

Buckley averaged a double-double overall, owning an 18.5 scoring mark. In Big West games, she had a league-leading 20.7 scoring and 13.8 rebound average. The senior lead the conference with 19 double-doubles and was ranked 15th nationally in that category. She also established a new UCI single season record for most free throws made (183) and attempted (240).

Buckley, who has been named Big West Player of the Week three times this year, was selected to the 2014 All-Big West Tournament team after averaging 25.0 points and 15.0 rebounds, while shooting .417 (15-36) from the floor over two games. She had a tournament and career-high 34 points in a quarterfinal final over UC Davis.
