IRVINE, Calif. --- Freshman Isaiah Thompson and sophomore Cameron Vaca won events for UC Irvine in the Anteater Four-Way Meet Saturday at Anteater Stadium.
Thompson finished first in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:54.65 and Vaca was first in the 400-meter hurdles in 53.82 as the 'Eaters competed against Long Beach State, Purdue and Cerritos College in the home opener.
Mike Kennedy was runner-up in the 100 meters in 10.80 and the 4x100 relay also placed second as Lloyd Sicard, James Douglas, Kennedy and Brandon Howard) finished with a time of 41.72.
Mason Miller placed third in the shot put with a mark of 55-4 ¾ and he was fifth in the discus throw at 158-8.
Stephen Brown finished third in the pole vault at 15-4 ¼ and Kyle Hubbard was third in the long jump at 21-10.
Austin Pollock placed fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-11 that is No. 10 all-time at UCI.
The 4x400 relay of Sicard, Vaca, Thompson and Howard) finished fourth with a time of 3:17.42.
The 'Eaters host the Spring Break Invitational Friday and Saturday at Anteater Stadium.
