SEATTLE, Wash. --- The UC Irvine women's indoor track and field team opened competition Friday at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships in Seattle.
Freshman Megan George qualified for Saturday's final in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds in Friday's preliminaries. That was the sixth-fastest time in the qualifying.
Megan Benson (8.77) and Paige Bushnell (8.93) did not qualify for the final in the 60-meter hurdles, but they did record personal-best times.
Freshman Ariel Cheng placed 20th in the pole vault Friday with a mark of 12-0.
Saturday's competition begins at 10:30 a.m. at Dempsey Indoor.
