Vote Cameron to be a MAC Hermann Trophy Finalist
KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The MAC Hermann Trophy is awarded every season to the top player in college soccer, and senior Cameron Iwasa can find his name among the 16 semifinalists remaining to capture it.
Iwasa’s nomination is a first for the program in its 31 years of existence. He tied UCI’s all-time matches played mark on Sunday appearing in his 85th match. He’s tied for the team lead with 18 points accounting for six goals and six assists.
In six postseason matches, he scored four goals including his lone game-winner to top UNLV in the NCAA First Round match, and added an assist which lifted UCI to an NCAA Second Round win over No. 6 Stanford.
Over his illustrious career, Iwasa ranks in the program’s career top ten in goals with 22, game-winning goals with eight, and points with 58 having earned All-Big West honors in each of his last two seasons.
The list is trimmed down to three finalists on Friday, Dec. 12, before the winner is named on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.
Fans can vote for Cameron until Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. and make him a finalist here.
