RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Sophomore Isaiah Thompson led UC Irvine in the Big West Conference Championship at Riverside Saturday morning.
Thompson placed 12th with a time of 24:36.6 over 8,000 meters at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course.
Alex Tebbe finished 48th in 25:47.2, Jake Williams was 53rd in 26:02.0 and Blake Wanser 54th in 26:06.2.
Nolan Del Valle crossed the finish line in 58th place (26:27.0), Munir Kahssay was 59th (26:49.7) and Eric Enriquez 61st (26:59.1).
UC Santa Barbara, led by individual champion Bryan Guerrero (23:47.4), won the team title with 21 points. Cal Poly was second with 49, UC Riverside third with 95 and UCI was seventh with 197 points.
The Anteaters compete in the NCAA West Regional at the Stanford Golf Course Nov. 14.
