MARICOPA, Ariz. --- UC Irvine climbed two spots to finish fourth in the Cowboy Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational that concluded Sunday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
UCI and host Wyoming tied for fourth place with 54-hole totals of 888. Idaho won the tournament with a score of 854, San Francisco was second at 871 and UC Santa Barbara finished third at 879.
Anteater senior Pete Fernandez earned his second top-10 finish in as many outings this season, placing third with a three-round score of 4-under par 212 after shooting a 1-under 71 in the final round.
Sophomore Bryan Shin had a 76 Sunday and finished 19th at 222. Junior Jacob Schulze (76) and freshman David Kim (72) tied for 30th place at 228 and freshman Jonathan Young (76) placed 35th at 230.
Senior Bhuvan Potluri, competing as an individual, also finished 35th at 230 following a final round of 77.
Idaho's Jared du Toit was medalist at 10-under 206, shooting a 69 Sunday.
The 'Eaters return to action Oct. 20-21 in the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
