SIMI VALLEY, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished fourth in the Bill Cullum Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, marking the Anteaters' third top-five finish in as many tournaments this season.
UCI had a 54-hole total of 863 in the 20-team field. USC won the tournament at 833, Arizona State was second at 844 and Washington State third at 861.
Anteater junior Jacob Schulze placed 16th at 2-under 214 after he shot a 1-under 71 in the final round.
Senior Pete Fernandez shot a 72 Tuesday afternoon and finished 17th at 1-under 215 and freshman David Kim, who also shot a 72, was 27th at 217.
Freshman Jonathan Young (78) placed 35th at 219 and freshman Johnny Hyun (79) finished 94th at 234.
Arizona State's Jon Rahm was medalist at 13-under 203.
Coach Paul Smolinski's Anteaters will conclude the fall portion of their schedule Nov. 7-9 in the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic at the Ka'anapali Golf Club in Maui, Hawaii.
