COSTA MESA, Calif. --- Lauren Hall led UC Irvine in the 25th annual Vanguard Invitational Saturday morning at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.
She recorded a time of 18:55 over 5,000 meters to finish 23rd overall (third among Division I runners).
Marthie Ponty was 35th (seventh D-I) in 19:14, Pearl Law placed 39th overall (ninth D-I) in 19:18, Hannah Ruby was 39th (10th D-I) in 19:22 and Aliya Shah 52nd (13th D-I) in 19:37.
Kelly Collins from Westmont was the individual champion with a time of 17:39.
In the team competition, UCI was sixth overall (second D-I) with 171 points.
The Anteaters travel to Riverside for the Highlander Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 18) at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course. The women's 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
