
Baseball America Tabs Sparks As Team USA Top Prospect

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine infielder Taylor Sparks was named to Baseball America's top prospect list for Team USA, joining infielder Connor Spencer, who played in the West Coast League.
Sparks led Team USA with a .396 batting average while recording 21 hits and driving in 10. The infielder had a triple and seven stolen bases and was voted the top American player of the 39th edition of the USA-Japan International Collegiate Friendly Series.
Sparks, who will be a junior this fall, topped the team last year in hits with 80, RBI with 50 and home runs with 10. He was tied for first with four triples and tied for third with 11 doubles while scoring 38 runs.
