Anteaters Contribute To U.S. Pan American Cup Team Victories

IRVINE, Calif. -- The United States, which features three Anteaters, improved to 2-0 at the Pan American Cup tournament at the Juan de la Barrera Gymnasium in Mexico City.
UCI junior-to-be All-American libero Michael Brinkley as well as 2009 All-American Ryan Ammerman and 2012 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honoree Dan McDonnell are all starting for the U.S. team.
The U.S. opened with a victory over Dominican Republic (26-24, 25-14, 22-25, 21-25, 15-7) on Monday then defeated Trinidad & Tobago (25-14, 25-10, 25-20) on Tuesday. The United States will conclude pool play on Wednesday against Mexico.
Both Ammerman and McDonnell were members of the 2012 U.S. Men's Pan American Cup squad that won a gold medal.
The highest ranked participating National Team in the final results of the competition, not already qualified to the FIVB World League 2014, will qualify to the FIVB World League Qualification Tournament Challenge Event.
