IRVINE, Calif. --- Pitcher Andrew Morales added yet another honor to his resume after he was named a CollegeBaseballInsider.com/Louisville Slugger honorable mention All-American.
Morales becomes the fourth Anteater to be touted by CBI.com, a quartet that is comprised of all UCI hurlers. Matt Summers (2011) and Brett Smith (2004) both garnered honorable mention awards while NCAA saves leader, Blair Erickson, was voted to the second team in 2004.
Morales, who will enter his senior year at UCI this fall, was the first UCI player to go undefeated on the mound after logging a 10-0 mark in 2013. The right-hander boasted a 1.89 earned run average, finishing third in the UCI single-season annals. Earlier this year he was voted an All-American by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
He ended the year ranked 38th in the nation in ERA and 27th in victories.
