IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine sophomore Itos Aikhionbare continued her impressive season with another Big West Conference Field Athlete of the Week Honor.

This marks the third time in the past four weeks that Aikhionbare has earned the award.

She won the shot put with a mark of 51-5 (15.67 meters) at the Oxy Invitational last Saturday.  That improved her No. 2 mark in UCI history as she closes in on the school record of 51-9 ¾ set by Alisha Misiaita in 2009.

Aikhionbare ranks first in the Big West this season in the shot put (51-5) and discus throw (169-5).  Her discus mark, which she recorded at the Beach Invitational Apr. 20, ranks No. 1 in UCI history.

The Anteaters compete in the Big West Conference Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday at Cal State Northridge.
