Irvine, Calif. -- No. 1 UC Irvine took down the University of British Columbia, Okanagan 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-18) then beat Red Deer College 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) at Crawford Court Saturday.

Against BC, opposite Tamir Hersko led UCI with 11 kills. Outside hitter Travis Woloson and middle blocker Jason Agopian each had eight kills apiece. Middle blocker Andrew Benz totaled six kills. 

Versus the Kings, Zack La Cavera traded his libero jersey from the first match and topped the Anteaters from the opposite position with 12 kills. Outside Jeremy Dejno had 10 kills while Hersko, middle blocker Scott Kevorken and middle blocker Collin Mehring each added five kills. 

The Anteaters start a three-match road swing at Lewis next Wednesday (Jan. 1) at 5:00 p.m. PT.
