
Alex Tebbe is Top Anteater at NCAA Regional

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- Alex Tebbe was UC Irvine's top finisher in Friday's NCAA West Regional at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento.
Tebbe finished 51st of 187 competitors with a time of 30:54 over the 10,000-meter course. Oregon's Edward Cheserek won the race in 29:35.
UCI's Riley Martin placed 93rd (31:45), Isaiah Thompson was 131st (32:35) and Amir Shirif 134th (32:38).
Jake Williams finished 145th in 32:54, Nolan Del Valle was 149th (33:00) and Tommy Newton-Neal 171st in 34:03.
UCI finished 19th in the team competition with 542 points as Stanford was first with 53, Oregon second with 64 and Portland third with 92.
The meet marked the last event for UCI head coach Vince O'Boyle, who announced earlier this fall that he is retiring after 32 years, effective Dec. 31.
