COSTA MESA, Calif. --- Katie Kass was UC Irvine's top runner in the Vanguard Invitational Saturday morning at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.
Kass was the seventh NCAA Division I finisher and eighth overall with a time of 19:07.26 over 5,000 meters.
Nicole Mendoza placed ninth in 19:17.40, Aliya Shah was 13th (19:42.20), Pearl Law 14th (19:46.03) and Lauren Hall 16th (20:04.51).
Allison Klas finished 17th with a time of 20:11.29, Courtney Sharar was 20:36.15, Gabbi White 21st (21:37.46) and Ella Yuen 22nd (22:05.27).
Lisa Vasquez, an unattached runner, won the race in 18:05.08.
UCI finished with 48 points as Loyola Marymount was first with 15 in Division I competition.
UCI competes in the Highlander Invitational at 8:45 a.m. at UC Riverside Saturday.
