FULLERTON, Calif. --- UCI started off conference right with a 3-1 win at Cal State Fullerton Friday evening.

The Anteaters (5-7-0, 1-0-0) jumped out early thanks to Natalia Ledezma who slipped into the box and gave UCI the lead in the 5th minute.

UCI pushed the lead in the 63rd minute as Laura McGrail slipped behind the defense and snuck a ball underneath the keeper.

CSUF (3-7-0, 0-1-0) kept it close with a score of its own in the 67th minute. This was following a hard strike off the restart that careened off the crossbar and rebounded over the bar.

The 'Eaters remained relentless, and Dana Sanderlin benefitted from it receiving a prime pass and netting UCI's third goal from the far edge of the box in the 86th minute.

UCI will have a chance to get a second Big West win on Sunday as it visits UC Riverside for a 6:00 p.m. match.
