Box Score

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- The Anteaters were blitzed Friday afternoon for their second straight 4-0 loss, this one at the hands of the No. 18 Pepperdine Waves in the initial match of the UCLA Invitational at Drake Stadium.

Pepperdine (6-2-0) struck first in the 26th minute. Lynn Williams received a pass from Anisa Guajardo and shot off keeper Jenn Randazzo's hands. The ball trickled through and roll towards the goal line crossing it before defender Haley O'Brien could kick it out.

The Waves went into the half leading in shots, 8-1, as well as the 1-0 score.

UC Irvine (3-6-0) got the first chance in the second half as Natalia Ledezma punted a heater right at Wave keeper, Roxanne Barker.

Pepperdine quickly answered with a pair of lead-stretching goals; one from Amanda LeCave who touched it wide of Randazzo and got a good roll on the finish in the 63rd minute. Anisa Guajardo, who assisted on the first two, was rewarded for her play in the next minute heading in a corner kick to make it 3-0.

LeCave added a second goal in the 73 minute bending a laser just over Randazzo in the 73 minute.

The 'Eaters finished with just six shots to the Waves' 15. Each keeper saved two shots.

UCI, now 3-6-0, look to turn things around on Sunday as it faces the Tigers of Princeton once again at 4:00 p.m. at Drake Stadium on the campus of UCLA.
