Andrew Thurman Named Cape Cod League Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. --- Right-hander Andrew Thurman, who is pitching for Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod League, hurled a complete-game shutout to earn this week's Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week accolade.
The All-Big West first-team choice struck out 13 Commodores last Sunday, giving up three hits in the win. Thurman, who will be a junior this fall, followed that performance with seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings but was the hard-luck loser in a 1-0 decision against the Cotuit Kettleers.
Thurman currently has struck out 45 over the season to rank fifth in the Cape Cod League and is 3-3 with a 3.50 ERA.
