IRVINE, Calif. --- D.J Crumlich (Irvine/HS) has been named to the Brooks Wallace Shortstop Of the Year Award watch list, an honor that recognizes the top shortstop in the nation.
Crumlich, who owns a .961 fielding percentage, is second in the Big West with 127 chances. He leads the team and is fifth in the Big West in doubles with 13 to go along with a triple and 14 RBI. Crumlich is batting .313 and has stolen five bases. He can also be found in the UCI career records and is tied for seventh in runs scored with 130, doubles with 42 and sixth with 89 walks.
The senior is one of 50 to be selected to the list and the award will be presented on June 30 in Lubbock, Texas as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions.
Anteater alumnus, Ben Orloff, was the 2009 Brooks Wallace Award winner.
