Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's track runner Charles Jock has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.

The senior from San Diego dominated the track this past weekend at the Big West Conference Championships, winning the 800 meters in 1:44.75. Jock's time set both the conference meet and Anteater stadium records and ranks No. 1 in the U.S. overall this season. The middle distance runner was also a member of the UCI 4X400 relay that finished first with a time of 3:11.17. Jock has been a member of the UCI 4X400 relay team that has captured the championship title the past four years.

The Anteaters are prepping for the NCAA West Preliminaries which will be held in Austin, Texas May 24-26. The NCAA Championships will follow June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa.
