
Meet Record Brings Big West Honor to Charles Jock

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine senior Charles Jock has been named Big West Conference Track Athlete of the Week following his record-setting performance Sunday.
Jock set a meet record in winning the 800 meters with a time of 1:46.59 at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium. He broke the previous meet mark of 1:46.82 set by Khadevis Robinson in 2002.
Jock also ran the anchor leg in 45.7 as the Anteaters won the 4x400 relay in a season-best time of 3:09.89.
A two-time All-American, Jock has earned the conference's weekly honor seven times in his career.
UCI hosts the Big West Multi-Event Championships Friday and Saturday. Anteater Stadium is also site of the Big West Conference Track & Field Championships May 11-12.
