IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine junior Ericka Nowell has been named Big West Conference Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Cal/Nevada Championships last weekend.
Nowell (Perris, Calif.) won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.95 that leads the Big West and ranks 13th in the nation this season.
She also anchored UCI's 4x400 relay that finished second in a season-best time of 3:43.13.
This is Nowell's first Big West weekly honor and the third for the UCI women's program this season.
