San Luis Obispo, Calif. -- The UC Irvine women's golf team had four players in the top 10 and leads the field after the first day of the Big West Championships held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

Junior Michelle Park is the individual leader after carding a one-over par 73 on the first 18 holes. Redshirt freshman Michelle Yang is in second place, one shot behind Park with a score of 74. Sara Banke is tied for sixth at 76, while Ronnie Valerio is tied for ninth with a score of 77. Lalita Patipaksiri is tied for 27th (82). 

The Anteaters shot a 300 on first round Sunday and leads UC Davis by five strokes (305) and Long Beach State by six (306) shots.

Teams will play 18 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday to crown the conference champions.
