Solid Showings by 'Eaters at Beach Invitational

NORWALK, Calif. --- UC Irvine turned in several season-best performances at the Beach Invitational Saturday.
Dominic Jester recorded a Big West meet-qualifying time of 21.97 in the 200 meters while Brett Matejka finished ninth overall in the 5,000 meters in 14:35.42 for the fastest UCI time this season.
Cam Mitchell placed ninth overall in the 800 meters in 1:51.44 for his best time of the season.
Nick Osborne finished fifth in his section of the 1500 meters in 3:52.66 for his fastest time in 2012.
Stephen Brown was second in his flight of the pole vault with a mark of 15-3 ¾.
UCI hosts the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium Saturday and Sunday.
