LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UCI and LMU (4-5) locked horns in an intense non-conference match at Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center in Los Angeles as UCI was able to grind it out in the fourth period for the 12-9 win.

UCI (9-2) jumped on Danielle Warde's (Huntington Beach / Edison HS) back as she produced a first-period hat trick as the teams were squared at 3-3 after one.

Warde got a little help from her friends as UCI took a lead into halftime, 6-5, as Hannah Croghan (Yorba Linda / Rosary HS), Kelsey Klatt (Fresno / Sunnyside HS), and Jessy Cardey (Riverside / Poly HS) each netted a goal.

Cardey and Warde were not finished as they each continued to pepper the net as the lead stayed one after three, 9-8.

Cardey and Warde finally got UCI to break through as UCI built a four-goal lead before ending with the 12-9 victory. Cardey and Warde each completed five-goal days in the fourth period as they combined for all six of UCI's second-half goals.

The Anteaters have now won two in a row against the Lions, and will played them once again next Saturday, Feb. 25th in the first match of the UCI Invitational at 10:15 a.m. The 'Eaters play one more match, Sun. Feb. 19th, as they host The Brazilian National team in an exhibition match at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
