SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The No. 5 Arizona State Sun Devils continue to have the 'Eaters' number with an 8-4 victory in the UCSD Triton Invite Championship match on Sunday.

UC Irvine (8-2) had a replay of its last match against Arizona State (12-0) with a slow start. The Sun Devils held an early 3-0 lead and 4-1 going into the half.

The Anteaters continued to hang around as Danielle Warde (Hungtington Beach / Edison HS) scored to make it a two-goal game in the fourth period. ASU would not be denied and stretched the lead to 8-4 late before taking the championship.

Jessy Cardey (Riverside / Poly HS) had one streak snapped ending 12-match streak of scoring multiple goals. She still has her 25-match scoring streak intact.

UCI has another interesting weekend coming up as they travel to LMU next Sat. Feb. 18th and returning home Sunday for an exhibition match against the Brazilian National Team.
