Kelly Meggs Named ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week

MEGGS NAMED ESPN ZONE ANAHEIM ANTEATER OF THE WEEK
Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine women's basketball player Kelly Meggs has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.
The junior guard from Seattle had a clutch performance against her hometown school on Saturday (Dec. 1). Meggs knocked down a game-winning three-pointer with 1:02 to go in overtime to lift UC Irvine to a 61-60 victory. The victory was the 'Eaters first non-conference road win since Dec. 20, 2010 against Seattle. With lots of family and friends in the stands, she made five of her nine field-goal attempts, including two three-pointers, to finish with a season high of 12 points along with 3 assists. On Wednesday night (Dec. 5) against Idaho, Meggs chipped in with 9 points and 3 rebounds.
The Anteaters return back to the court this Sunday as they host CSU Bakersfield at 1:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.
