UCI is idle this week for final exams.
The Anteaters will close out 2012 with three games on the road.
The Anteaters return to action, traveling to Utah State on Dec. 18 then the University of Utah on Dec. 20. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m. MT.
Utah State and UC Irvine are both 2-7 heading into the contest next week. The Aggies are on a four-game losing skid, while UCI has dropped the last two outings.
The Anteaters hold a 6-3 advantage over the Aggies in the series records. The two teams met last year in Irvine with Utah State winning the contest 69-64. UCI has never won (0-2)when playing in Logan.
Utah State's Jerry Finkbeiner and UCI's Doug Oliver are both in their first season at their respective schools.
Utah State was a member of the Big West Conference from 2003-05. The Aggies are the fifth former Big West school the Anteaters have played this year. San Diego State will be returning to full membership in the Big West in 2013-14.
Utah is 7-1 and will play Houston Baptist before entertaining the Anteaters. The Utes suffered their first loss to BYU, 53-48 at home on Dec. 8.
The Utes lead the series record with the Anteaters, 3-0. Utah won the last meeting, 91-50 on Nov. 15, 2007 in Salt Lake City.
Utah is 20th in the NCAA in field goal percentage (45.2) while ranking 15th in three-point field goal percentage (38.2). The Utes are 11th nationally in fewest turnovers per game (13.0) while ranking 13th in assist/turnover ratio (1.14).
UC Irvine has only committed 115 fouls this season, the fewest among Big West schools.
Junior guard Jennifer Tsurumoto leads the team and ranks 12th in the Big West in scoring at 11.6 points per game. She also ranks eighth in assists 2.9.
Junior forward Camille Buckley ranks ninth in rebounds (6.7) and ninth in free throw percentage (.750) among Big West players.
UCI is still looking for its first win at home after dropping games to Idaho (73-55) and CSU Bakersfield (71-64) last week.
Buckley led the team in both games last week, recording 13 points and seven rebounds versus Idaho and then posting the team's first double-double of the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds against CSU Bakersfield.
Over the last two games, Buckley shot 70.6 percent from the floor and 77.8 from the free throw line. She also added two blocks.
On the year, Buckley is second on the team in scoring at 9.9 per game.
Sophomore forward Methlyn Onogomuho leads the team with 13 steals.
