UC Irvine Participates In Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

OFF THE TEE
- The Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational is in its 31st year.
- It is a 54-hole tournament playing 18 holes each day.
- Tee times are 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
- The course will playing as a par 72 at a distance of 6,054 yards.
- The tournament field includes Fresno State, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Seattle U, Stanford UC Davis, UNLV as well as the host Huskies.
- Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
- Edean Ihlanfeldt is the woman responsible for launching the women's golf team at Washington in 1974. She retired seven years later in 1981 at the age of 50. During her seven year coaching career, Ihlanfeldt never accepted payment for her coaching duties, donating her salary back for scholarships.
- Sahalee has played host to many prestigious tournaments through the years, including the 2010 U.S. Senior Open, 2002 NEC World Championship and 1998 PGA Championship.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
- UCI opened the 2012-13 season with a sixth place finish at the WSU Cougar Cup. The Anteaters had a three round total of 903 (302-296-305).
- Freshman Luciane Lee led UCI with a 21st place finish after carding a 226 (76-74-76) in her collegiate debut.
- Junior Taryn Yee had the team's best round of the tournament opening with a 73. She finished tied for 30th with a 54-hole score of 229.
