UCR Agricultural Operations Course – Riverside, Calif.
Men's 6,000 Meters – 8:00 a.m.
QUICK STRIDES
● UC Irvine is ranked No. 15 in the West Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
● UCI competes at the Highlander Invitational Saturday on the UC Riverside Agricultural Operations Course. Teams scheduled to compete are UCI, UCR and Wyoming.
● The 6,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
● There is no charge for admission at the Highlander Invitational, and parking is free at the Ag/Ops Course.
● To reach the Ag/Ops Course from the 215/60 freeway, exit Martin Luther King and go West. Turn left at the Canyon Crest traffic light and travel approximately 300 meters to the course entrance.
● The UCR Ag/Ops Course is also the site of the Big West Conference Championship (Oct. 27) for the fifth straight year.
● Calvin Tan was UCI's top runner at the UCSD Triton Classic last Saturday, finishing 72nd with a time of 28:20.7 over 8,000 meters.
● Rex Nelson led the Anteaters at the Stanford University Invitational Sept. 29, finishing 15th of 265 runners with a time of 24:43 over 8,000 meters at the Stanford Golf Course.
ON THE HORIZON
● UCI competes at the Titan Invitational on the Cal State Fullerton campus Oct. 19 with the 8,000-meter race beginning at 5:15 p.m.
● The Big West Conference Championship is Oct. 27 at the UCR Ag/Ops Course with the men's 8,000 meters starting at 9:30 a.m.
