Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine outside hitter Kevin Tillie has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week after helping the Anteaters to victories over then-No. 6 Pepperdine and No. 5 USC last week.
Against the Waves, Tillie recorded 13 kills and hit .478 while accumulating five digs. He stepped up his game versus the Trojans, collecting a match-high 18 kills while hitting .567. The junior had just one error in the match and also recorded a career-high three block assists.
For the week, Tillie hit .528 and averaged 3.88 kills, 4.19 points, 1.00 digs. The junior committed just three attack errors over eight sets.
This is Tillie's first national honor and the 18th time a UCI men's volleyball player has been named a Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week.
