Bryan Petersen Hits Walk-Off Homer For Marlins

MIAMI --- Bryan Petersen hit his second career home run, leaving the Washington Nationals on the field as the Marlins posted a 3-2 win Tuesday at Sun Life Stadium.

Petersen, who was an outfielder for UC Irvine from 2005-07, belted a two-out solo shot off lefty Doug Slaten for the game-winning run in the penultimate game of the season for Florida.

The Nationals led 2-1 after 5 ½ on an RBI hit from Ian Desmond but Florida knotted the game in the bottom of the frame when Emilion Bonifacio scored on a wild pitch after hitting a double and stealing third.

Petersen was 1-for-3 on the day and is batting .262 with 53 hits and 13 doubles. Petersen also cracked three triples to go along with his two home runs, driving in 10 runs on the year.
