UC IRVINE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS THIS WEEK
Men's Soccer, 8-1-0 -- #7 in NSCAA Poll (#1 in Far West Region)
Men's Water Polo, 8-4 -- #7 in CWPA Poll
Women's Soccer, 7-2-1 -- #18 in TopDrawerSoccer.com (#3 in West Region)
IRVINE, Calif. --- Three UC Irvine teams are ranked in the nation's Top 20 in this week's polls.
Coach George Kuntz's men's soccer team, 8-1-0, is ranked No. 7 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.
The 'Eaters, who are ranked No. 1 in the Far West Region, open Big West Conference play tonight hosting Cal Poly at 7:00 at Anteater Stadium. UCI travels to conference rival and nationally-ranked UC Santa Barbara for a 7:00 match Saturday evening.
Coach Marc Hunt's men's water polo squad is 8-4 and ranked No. 7 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association national poll. UCI competes in the SoCal Tournament at Long Beach State this weekend, opening against ninth-ranked UC Davis at 9:20 Saturday morning.
Coach Scott Juniper's women's soccer team, 7-2-1 overall, is ranked 18th this week by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
UCI opens Big West action on the road this weekend, traveling to UC Davis Friday (3:00 p.m.) and Pacific Sunday (12:00 p.m.).
