Lauren Bowie Named Director of Women's Basketball Operations

Irvine, Calif. -- Lauren Bowie returns to her alma mater to serve as the Director of Women's Basketball Operations at UC Irvine.

Bowie comes to UCI after serving as an assistant coach at the University of La Verne for the previous three years (2008-11).

"We are excited to have Lauren join our staff," UC Irvine head women's basketball coach Molly Goodenbour said. "Her experience as a "do-it-all" assistant at La Verne has helped prepare her for the duties she will perform at UCI. Lauren is organized and dedicated and has a great work ethic. She should excel in her new position and we are fortunate to have her."

The former Lauren Yadon played forward for the Anteaters from 2002-06. She averaged 7.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game over her career and currently ranks seventh in the UCI record books with 70 blocks all-time. She earned All-Big West Freshman team honors in 2003 after averaging 9.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per outing. Bowie scored a career-high 27 points against UC Davis in 2004 and pulled down a career-best 13 rebounds versus Long Beach State in 2003.

Bowie graduated from UCI with a degree in psychology and social behavior.

Bowie graduated from Villa Park High School where she was a McDonald's All-American honorable mention selection.
