U.S. National Volleyball Team Improves to 2-0 At NORCECA Continental Championship

Mayaguez, Puerto Rico -- The U.S. Men's National Volleyball Team swept Costa Rica, 25-16, 25-12, 25-9 on Tuesday at the 2011 Men's NORCECA Continental Championship in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

The U.S. Men (2-0) will play Cuba (2-0) at 3 p.m. PT on Wednesday to determine the winner of Pool B. The winner of that match will have a bye into the semifinals on Friday. Costa Rica (0-2) will play Trinidad & Tobago (0-2) to determine the third-place pool finisher.

UC Irvine All-Americans Jayson Jablonsky and Brian Thornton are members of the U.S. team, while head coach John Speraw serves an assistant coach.

Jablonsky, an outside hitter, scored eight points on six attacks and two blocks, while Thornton was credited with 11 assists at setter.
