Kopf, Randazzo Continue to Receive National Recognition

IRVINE, Calif. --- The accolades are piling up in what has been a busy week for 'Eater teammates Lexi Kopf (Sonora / Sonora HS) and Jennifer Randazzo (San Jose / Presentation HS).

Earlier in the week, the duo swept Big West Player of the Week awards; Kopf taking home Offensive Player of the Week and Randazzo earning Defensive Player of the Week. Each player has added some hardware since then.

Randazzo has been featured on a pair of noteworthy publications such as the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week and Collegesoccer360.com's Primetime Performers of the Week. On CS360, Randazzo was named the Primetime Performer of the Week. All this coming on the heels of two road wins against UT-San Antonio and No. 11 Texas A&M. She recorded a shutout against the Aggies to go along with seven saves. She allowed just one goal in the two games and saved 11 shots.

Kopf earned two honors of her own. She was named to the Topdrawersoccer.com College Team of the Week and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player of the Week. Kopf scored the game-winning goal in each match over the weekend on just two shots.

The players become the 21st and 22nd Anteaters to earn Big West Player of the Week honors.

The NSCAA Player of the Week Award for Kopf makes her the first Anteater in school history to receive the honor. She is the second 'Eater to be named to the TDS College Team of the Week joining alum Danielle de Seriere who did it last season.

Randazzo joins a pair of Anteaters with her awards. The last 'Eater to be named to Soccer America's Women's Team of the Week was Robyn Piotrowski in 2002. CoCo Goodson (Ramona / University of Texas) was also named a CS360 Primetime Performer last season, however, Randazzo is the first to be named the Primetime Performer of the Week for all of women's soccer.

The No. 13 'Eaters continue their season this weekend in Riverside, Calif. in the UC Riverside Tournament against San Jose State (Fri. Aug. 26, 4 p.m.) and Mississippi State (Sun. Aug. 28, 10 a.m.)
