
UC Irvine Men's Volleyball Players Have Rough Day At World University Games

Shenzhen, China – The U.S. Men's Indoor Volleyball Team fell to Thailand, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23 at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China, and will not play for a medal.
The U.S. Team finishes in third place in Pool D with a 3-2 record. The Czech Republic won the pool at 5-0 and Thailand was second at 4-1. The U.S. will now play for ninth-16th place, starting against Japan at midnight PT on Friday.
In the loss to Thailand, UCI's Carson Clark played in two sets and contributed one point with a block, while Cory Yoder saw action in one set.
On the beach, outside hitter Connor Hughes and teammate Maddison McKibbon of USC lost to Norway's Morten Kvamsdal and Anders Stroemsvag, 21-19, 21-17. The Americans finished the tournament tied for seventh.
