Irvine, Calif. – UC Irvine defender CoCo Goodson was named the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Co-Player of the Week.

Goodson, a member of the San Diego SeaLions, denied Orange County 's goal scoring opportunities in a 1-0 win followed by playing both up top and on defense in a 3-0 win over Los Angeles.

The WPSL's mission is to provide the highest level of soccer in our effort to: bring affordable & quality family entertainment to the community; display positive role models for our youth; while, being a stepping stone for aspiring professional & international-level players.

Goodson is one of nine first team All-Americans returning in 2011. She was named Big West Defender of the Year, helping the Anteaters to a No. 14 ranking and a NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance last season.

UC Irvine will host Fresno State in an exhibition game August 10 at Anteater Stadium beginning at 4:00 p.m.
