ANTEATERS PLAY IN GLOBAL SPORTS CAGE CLASSIC: UCI will travel to Eugene, Ore. to participate in the Global Sports Cage Classic hosted by the University of Oregon in Matthew Knight Arena.

The Anteaters open against Nicholls State on Thursday (Nov. 24) for a 1:30 contest then battle the host Ducks on Friday (Nov. 25) at 2:00 p.m. The teams will take Saturday off and return to action on Sunday (Nov. 27) where UCI will meet Weber State beginning at 11:30 a.m.

VS. NICHOLLS STATE: This will be the first meeting between the schools. The Colonels are 1-2 on the year after losing to Alabama State, 57-61 on Monday.

VS OREGON: Oregon holds a 3-1 lead all-time. UCI won the last meeting on Nov. 30, 1984 when they topped the Ducks 58-56 at home.  Oregon is 3-0 to start the week.

VS. WEBER STATE: Weber State leads the series, 2-1. The Wildcats have won the last two meetings including a 66-53 victory in Ogden, UT on Dec. 15, 2008. The Wildcats enter the week with an 0-3 record.

WHITE HOT: Forward Jazmyne White had an impressive week, averaging 21.5 points and shooting .677 (21-31) from the floor. The junior recorded her third career double-double with a career-high 23 points and season-high 10 rebounds against Bakersfield. She followed that with a team-high 20-point performance on 10-14 (.714) shooting from the field versus Utah State. White scored almost a point a minute, recording 43 points in 45 minutes of action. She leads the team with 13.8 scoring average.

FROM THE FIELD: UCI tops the Big West in field goal percentage with a .471 (120-255) mark. The Anteaters shot a season-high .513 (40-78) against Bakersfield last week, which is the best mark by a Big West school this year.

MORE BIG WEST STATS: UCI ranks second in  rebounding defense (32.2), rebounding margin (+7.5), blocked shots (5.0) and assists (17.75)   and is third in scoring average (74.7). The Anteaters are last in the league in free throw percentage (.542).

BALANCED SCORING: UCI has four players scoring in double figures led by Jazmyne White with a 13.8 average. Sophomore Jacquelyn Marshall is averaging 12.8 points per game, followed by sophomore Jasmine Bernard at 11.5 and freshman Methlyn Onogomuho with a 10.5 average. The Anteaters are averaging 72.0 points per game after averaging 67.0 points last season. Last year was the highest offensive output since the 1994-95 Anteaters scored 67.3 points per outing.
