U.S. Downs Venezuela In Five At Pan American Games

Guadalajara, Mexico -- The U.S. Men's Volleyball Team played another five set match and came out on top of Venezuela, 21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 15-13 at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

It was the U.S. Men's (2-3) fourth five-set match of the tournament and the victory means they will play for fifth place on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT against the winner of the match between Canada and Puerto Rico.

The U.S. Men won despite being out-attacked by Venezuela, 55-46, but they out-blocked the South Americans 8-6 and had seven aces while Venezuela had two. The U.S. had a kill percent of 44.7 and a hitting efficiency of 0.301. Venezuela's kill percent was 44.0 and its attack percent was 0.224.

Outside hitter Jordan DuFault finished with five points on five attacks. He was second in receptions with 10.
