Camille Maron Leads UC Irvine at Titan Invitational

 

Final Results

FULLERTON, Calif. --- Redshirt freshman Camille Maron was the top UC Irvine finisher at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Invitational Friday.

Maron placed 44th of 139 runners with a time of 18:49.8 on the 5,000-meter campus course.  Suzanne Cornwell of Cal State San Marcos was the individual winner in 17:01.7.

UCI's Samia Sailinuu placed 48th in 19:01.8, Rosa Serna was 50th in 19:06.9 and Carolin Haney was 62nd with a time of 19:23.2.

Emma Archuleta finished 68th in 19:37.5, Courtney Wilson was 71st (19:49.0) and Jewelz Andrews 73rd (19:50.2) to complete UCI's top seven.

Cal State San Marcos won the team title with 22 points, UCLA finished second with 65 and UC Santa Barbara third with 108.  UCI finished sixth with 170 points.

The Anteaters compete in the Big West Conference Championships next Saturday (Oct. 29) at UC Riverside's Agricultural Operations Course.  The women's 6,000-meter race begins at 9:35 a.m.
