10 - UC Irvine has pitched three shutouts to start 2025, 1 of 10 programs yet to concede through 3 matches

· The Anteaters stay undefeated through three matches after a 2-0 week:
+ UCI opened the week with Cal State LA scoring twice in each half for a 4-0 win. Gage Lyons opened the scoring with his first as an Anteater, Agaton Pourshahidi added a first-half penalty, and Misael Gonzalez Lopez had a second-half brace in 20 minutes time
+ UC Irvine welcomed in North Florida on Sunday and won 3-0. Isaiahs Gutierrez nailed the eventual game-winner in the 29th minute, and a second-half barrage including 11 Anteaters shots saw two go in from Gonzalez Lopez at the penalty spot and Travis Babineau
· Misael Gonzalez Lopez parlayed a three-goal week into Big West Offensive Player of the Week. It's the first weekly honor for the second-year Anteater to accompany his All-Big West Honorable Mention honor last year. Isaac Powell was the award last week giving the 'Eaters both offensive awards through the season's first two weeks
· Seven new Anteaters have appeared in 2025 with six coming in the season's opening game and four Division I collegiate debuts. The seventh happened Thursday in Elijah Jugé who made his collegiate debut subbing in for the final 15 minutes of play
· More firsts appeared last week including Gutierrez's first career game-winner, and first Anteater goals for Babineau and Lyons. First collegiate points went to Gustavo Gonzalez and Hunny Yoo in the form of assists this week
· Joe O'Shaughnessy's start to his Division I era continues to be flawless. The team has earned three shutouts and two have been registered to him. He and Alex Shields each played a half in Thursday's shutout win over Cal State LA. O'Shaughnessy has six saves of the eight total by UCI.

Friday vs. the Wildcats
· New Hampshire makes its first trip to UC Irvine Friday returning the trip UCI made to Durham in 2022 for a 1-0 defeat. UNH had reached the NCAA Tournament in seven straight seasons before just missing out last year, and won or advanced in five of those trips. During that stretch the Wildcats had a record of 115-28-25 before a 7-3-7 mark in 2024. The 2025 Wildcats have started slow with an 0-3-1 mark through two weeks outscored 8-1
· UNH was picked to finish second in the America East Preseason Poll coming off a sixth straight regular season conference title. French grad transfer midfielder Matteo Brossel and German sophomore defender Max Voigt were part of the preseason team while Matteo Piccardo has the lone goal in 2025

Monday vs. the Big Red
· Cornell heads out to California following just one match to this point, a 3-0 win over LeMoyne. They began the year No. 22 nationally, but have fallen from the rankings. They'll stop in to play UC Santa Barbara before Monday's trip to Irvine
· The Big Red comes in for a Monday meeting with the Anteaters, back after the lone meeting in in 2022, also in Anteater Stadium, that the Big Red won, 1-0.
· Cornell returns four that played in that 2022 matchup including keeper Ryan Friedberg and starters Ben Goulding and Andrew Johnson. Johnson returns after being drafted, and he's back with the rest of the defense from the 2024 NCAA Second Round squad. Midfielder Conner Miller joins him on the preseason Hermann watch list.
