Shirel Nahum helped Israel to a sixth-place finish at the 2025 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket in Matosinhos, Portugal, August 2-10. Â

After going 0-3 in the Group Phase, Israel pulled off a big upset as they took down two-time defending champion France, 81-74, in the Round of 16. They then dropped a close 77-69 decision to Italy in the quarterfinals.

Israel bounced back in their first classification game with a thrilling 80-78 victory over Türkiye before coming up short against Belgium on the final day of the tournament.

Nahum was her team's leading rebounder at 4.7 boards per game. She also averaged 6.3 points and 1.6 assists in 19.4 minutes per outing. She shot 36% from the field and 93% at the free throw line.

Nahum opened the tournament with eight rebounds against eventual champion Spain. She also put up nine points, seven boards, and three assists against runner-up Lithuania. Nahum matched that point total vs. Italy in the quarterfinals, while registering eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 FG) and five rebounds in the win over Türkiye.

Nahum continued to add to her international experience as she previously represented Israel at the 2023 and 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, as well as the 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers.
