COLFAX, Wash. - The UC Irvine men's cross country team finished 19th at the NCAA West Regional Championships Friday afternoon at Colfax Golf Club.

It was the Anteaters' best regional finish since 2017.

No. 12 Washington took home the team title, while 15th-ranked Oregon was second to secure the West Region's two at-large bids to the NCAA Championships. Washington State's Evans Kurui was the individual champion with a 10K time of 28:53.7.

Jacob Bustamante led the 'Eaters with a top-100 showing. He covered the 10K course in 31:21.8 (98th). Redshirt freshman
Juan Chantaca wasn't far behind in 105th with a time of 31:31.0.

Cameron Smith was five seconds back at 31:50.5.
