KAPOLEI, Hawaii – Sophomore
Alyson Sor fired a first round of 69 to lead UC Irvine on the first day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational held at the Kapolei Golf Club.
The Anteaters are in second place with a score of 284, eight strokes behind leader Colorado State (276). The first round score of 284 is tied for second best in the UCI record book, matching the final round of the Wolverine Invitational in September.
Sor, who sits in a tie for sixth place, carded six birdies on the day for her season-best score of 69.
 Junior
Jasmine Chen is tied for 11
th with a score of two-under par 70. She recorded a pair of birdies on both the front and back nine.
Freshman
Alona Avery is tied for 20
th with score of 72, while freshman
Katelyn Kong is tied for 29
th with a one-over par 73 and freshman
Katherine Gerbing is tied for 54
th with a total of 75. Â
Junior
Kiana Briggs, playing as an individual, is tied for 20
th with a score of even par 72.
The tournament continues with 18 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
