· UC Irvine takes part in its third straight Big West Championship after finishing in a tie for sixth in the Big West standings and were projected in the preseason to finish third receiving three first-place votes. The Big West projected champion LBSU finished fourth with the regular season crown to Cal State Fullerton, projected fourth.
· Thursday night went to a penalty shootout for UCI to advance past Long Beach State.
Glo Hinojosa stopped four shots and then one in the shootout, meanwhile all four Anteaters buried their PK attempts capped off by

Glo Hinojosa leads one of the stingier defenses in the Big West with 33 career wins, 28 career shutouts, and 216 career saves. Hinojosa stopped a penalty in the 4-1 shootout win Sunday to advance. She now has five penalty kick saves all-time with three in shootouts. The 'Eaters allowed 23 goals all year with nine coming in Big West matches allowing just 39 shots on goal
· UC Irvine's offense put home one more goal than it allowed all year, 24, with half coming in Big West matches, both middle of the pack. They're one of the higher-volume attacks with 108 total corners earned, second in the conference, and with the third-most shots in Big West matches all while being called for the second-least fouls in Big West action at 85.

Gianna Creighton tied the program record starting her 82nd career match Sunday and has played over 7,000 minutes. She and 10 other Anteaters have played over 50 career matches.
· UC Irvine's offense set some impressive marks at Bakersfield with four goals in a 3:20-span, three goals coming within 82 seconds of each other, and two 34 seconds apart.
Tati Fung didn't score, but she registered a program record four assists in the match.
All-Big West
· Season awards were handed out Saturday with five Anteaters recognized. First Teamers were
Tati Fung, her first honor, and
Alyssa Moore and
Kiera Smeenge each their third time as All-Big West.
Glo Hinojosa's third honor came on the Second Team, and as Honorable Mention was
Gianna Creighton making her third career appearance

· The Anteaters and Titans match up for a fifth time in the Big West postseason even at a 1-1-2 record. Last year, the sides also met in Titan Stadium in the First Round with the 'Eaters needing overtime to eliminate Fullerton. CSF leads the all-time series, 16-12-7.
· The Titans had one of the better offenses in 2023 posting the most shots, corners, and goal differentials. They put it all together in Big West play with the most goals, 17, least amount allowed, 7, and the best save percentage. Goalkeeper of the Year Mia Ranson is responsible for that stopping 88 shots, and the offense has multiple weapons, most notably Kaylin Raibon (5 G, 2 A) along with three goals each from Isabella Cruz, Kaylee Noble, and Kaitlin Taylor, and Makenna McGill who came on strong with four goals, all coming in Big West action
Big West Championship
· The 22nd Big West Championship moves to Fullerton and this UCI's 15th time and the third straight year winning each of the last two. Since the field expanded to six teams in 2022, UCI has been the 5-or-6-seed benefitting from the change. The winner Thursday will advance to a 1:00 p.m. Sunday matchup with the winner of UC Davis and Cal Poly
