IRVINE, Calif. -- UC Irvine released the 2022 women's volleyball schedule, highlighted by two home tournaments and the ever-challenging Big West slate. Tickets are now on sale.

After playing at the SMU Invitational which features three teams that had 18 or more wins a year ago, UCI returns home to host the UCI/adidas Invitational Sept, 2-3. The Anteaters will face Holy Cross, Sacred Heart and Dartmouth.

Orange County teams will unite the next weekend to host the UCI/CSF Invitational Sept. 8-10 entertaining Gonzaga and Weber State. The second annual Big West/WAC Match-Up rounds out the preseason schedule Sept. 16-17 in Phoenix, Ariz.

"The early tournaments will give us a good sense of where we are," head coach Ashlie Hain said. "Sacred Heart was a NCAA Tournament team last year plus GCU and Weber State made NIVC appearances in 2021."

Hain thinks the Big West will be highly competitive once again. The Anteaters will start conference play hosting CSUN (Sept. 23) and UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 24) and end with Long Beach State in the home finale on Nov. 19. Hawaii will visit Irvine on Nov. 12.
