IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team kicked off the Steve Scott Invitational Friday at Anteater Stadium.

Liam Miksic led the 'Eaters with a runner-up finish in the javelin. He threw for over 200 feet on each of his final two attempts, registering a best of 205-11. That was one inch off his personal record which ranks second in school history.

Three Anteaters also established lifetime bests in the 5000-meter.
Lukas Amare was UCI's top performer as he shaved three seconds off his PR at 14:35.42 to place second overall and first among collegiate athletes.
Cameron Smith also had a top-10 showing with a personal-best 14:49.84 (9th), while
Henry McClish crossed the finish line in a personal-record 15:09.62.

Seth Enochs was fifth overall in the long jump at 23-07.5.

UC Irvine returns to Anteater Stadium tomorrow for the second and final day of the Steve Scott Invitational. The men's shot put will kick things off at noon.
