Josh Farmer, who established four personal bests, racked up 4,140 points through the first five events of the decathlon Friday at APU's Franson Classic Multis.

Farmer is in second place and sits only nine points behind the leader. This is his first decathlon as an Anteater, and first since his freshman year at Colorado when he placed third at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships.

Â
The San Diego native then registered a lifetime-best 23-11 in the long jump where he was third overall. His PR ranks 10th in program history. Farmer kept rolling in the shot put where he saw a two-foot improvement on his personal best with a toss of 45-03.75.
Â
Farmer added a season-best 6-03.5 (T4th) in the high jump, before closing out the day with an individual victory and another personal record in the 400m (48.79).
Â
Farmer returns to Cougar Athletic Stadium in Azusa tomorrow for the final day of the Franson Classic Multis. The second half of the decathlon gets underway with the 110m hurdles at 1:30 p.m.
